This Class is about anchoring threads in hand embroidery on canvas and plain weave, which serve as the basis for many needlework techniques. You will learn how anchoring threads differ for counted and free embroidery in the anchoring technique and what special features working on different fabrics entails. In addition, special anchoring techniques for special applications such as couching, silk ribbon embroidery and single stitches are presented – each with a view to their characteristic anchoring methods and the appropriate tools.
